In order to help Filipino evacuees in Fukushima prefecture to come back in the country due to the scare of radiation in the place after the explosion of Fukushima power plant. Philippine Airlines or PAL cut its fares to more than 30 percent on its inbound flights from Narita in Japan.

From one way fare of $500 coming from Narita going to Manila or Cebu, it has been cut down by PAL to $335. Lucio C. Tan, PAL Chairman and CEO ordered the issuance of discounted tickets for Filipinos facing mandatory evacuation in Japan ordered by its government due to radiation scare.

According to the official statement released by PAL, they have stressed out that only the Filipino evacuees facing the involuntary evacuation can avail the cut down of ticket price. Affected Filipinos are advised to coordinate with the Philippine Emb(–foul word(s) removed–)y in Japan which is in charge of the repatriation.

For those regular p(–foul word(s) removed–)engers, they can purchase their tickets in the PAL sales office or in the PAL ticket outlets in Tokyo downtown, PAL office in Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya which are credited travel agents in Japan.

According to PAL this action serves as their modest contribution to the Philippine government and also to help those Filipino people whose lives are in great danger at the moment.

The company said that the fare they are offering right now is just enough for the expenses that they need to pay, including jet fuel, landing and parking fees, salaries of the crew and other more.

Last few weeks thousands of bottled water was shifted by PAL to Japan which is a donation coming from Asia Brewery Inc., another Tan owned company.

700 Filipinos and their families were already repatriated by PAL last March 9-10 from Libya.

The special offer of PAL flies once a day from Narita (Tokyo) to Manila using the 370-seater Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, and five times a week from Narita to Cebu using the 302-seater Airbus A330-300.
