Tony Calvento, veteran print and broadcast journalist claimed gunmen were hired to “assassinate” actor-host Vhong Navarro.
In his official Facebook page, Tony Calvento revealed that he receive an intelligence report which details the plot to assassinate the 37-year-old actor host. However, he refused to reveal the identity of the assailant who hired gunmen to execute “Da Possessed” star.
“I’m not concerned with that kasi the real issue is the intel report that have reached us na may kinuhang ‘hired gunmen’ para assassinate si Vhong,” Tony Calvento said. “Sinong kumuha? Kayo na bahala mag-isip. Ito ang mas importanteng pagtuunan ng pansin at ma neutralize ng mga authorities,” he added.
Here’s the official statement of Tony Calvento in his official Facebook page:
Although the veteran journalist did name the alleged suspect who possibly hired gunmen to assassinate the “It’s Showtime” co-host, netizens claimed that businessman Cedric Lee is the person behind the alleged plot.
Cedric Lee and Simeon “Zimmer Raz” Palma who was previously nabbed in a joint entrapment operation in Oras Eastern, Samar are currently detained in the National Bureau of Investigation headquarters in Manila.
Cedric Lee and Zimmer Raz are set to appear before Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 for the preliminary hearing of the serious illegal detention case filed by Vhong Navarro in connection with the mauling incident last January 22, 2014.
Meanwhile, Deniece Cornejo, Jed Fernandez and other suspects are still at large.
This journalist is an attention seeker who tends to ride onto the Vhong Navarro rape cases. He is one excellent example of a dangerous journalist who thinks that his pen can write and reveal whatever, not minding that he could jeopardize the investigations and worse still, acused people of plotting a murder when he cannot even name the source of his so-called “intelligence report”. Not long ago, he made himself known to be ecstatic while communicating to Mallongga because Cornejo, et al being are being sued in the court for mauling and illegal detention of Navarro. Clearly, he is on the side of Navarro. If journalism is all about heresay and writing whatever against people, then I am no longer wondering why many mediamen/journalists been murdered.
