According to Spin.ph, Dioceldo Sy and the rest of his team officials, will meet  commissioner Chito Salud, chairman Ramon Segismundo, and media bureau chief Willie Marcial tomorrow. Part of the discussion is the examination of the company’s financial stability to maintain a professional team.

“Kaya naman namin. Kasi kami naman ang top-selling Filipino make-up brand. The sales chart of our company will prove that we are a legit applicant,” said Wilbert Loa, Blackwater official and a longtime friend of Sy. (Statements from Spin.ph)

The Ever Bilena cosmetic line owner is a champion executive in the amateur level as his PBL teams and recently his Blackwater sports in the d-league managed to win titles.

The bid of Sy, and his ballclub to move up in the professional ranks will allow the PBA to have its 11th team, something that the Asia’s first pay-for-play league is trying to do since last year.

Meralco and GlobalPort were the last ones to form ballclubs in the league as it replaced the Sta. Lucia and Powerade respectively in the recent years. Rain or Shine franchise also did the same trick in 2005 as the then Welcoat completed the depleted PBA following the departure of Shell.

“We will seek to expand the league. We have surplus of talent and the league has been enjoying tremendous exposure in media and even on social networking sites,” said Meralco team governor and Ramon Segismundo.

Segismundo, who include the possible expansion of the teams in his eight-point plan as chairman of the board, is actively spearheading the mission and he might be close to catching one now.
