Police Investigate Chinese Influencers After They Steal A Rescue Boat For Clout

INFLUENCERS STEAL RESCUE BOAT – During a massive flood in China, several influencers were found in one of the heavily affected areas.

However, instead of helping out, they merely fabricated photos to make it look like they were. Armed with tripods and acting skills, some even went as far as to pretend to be drowning.

According to China Youth Daily, the aftermath of the massive flooding in Henan province led a flock of influencers and celebrities to visit affected areas. Aside from supplies and relief goods, they also brought cameras and their crew with them.

But, according to rescue workers, the influencers simply posed a problem. Furthermore, they were hampering the efficacy of their time-sensitive work.

“It’s crystal clear to everyone here that you weren’t really trying to save people. You are scumbags!”, shouted one rescue worker. Meanwhile, one of the influencers stole a boat from a rescue team which led to police intervening in the situation.

Luckily, they were quickly caught with an embarrassed look on their faces. Unfortunately, when the rescue team got the boat back, they said that it was already severely damaged.

Because of the massive scene they caused, the influencers who posted their content on TikTok were suspended from using the platform. Meanwhile, local media reported that 98 videos of influencers that capitalized on the Henan flooding had been removed.

Furthermore, 42 accounts had already been suspended with eight suffering from a permanent ban on TikTok.
