Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo proposed a bill that add support for Math and Science teachers as well as inspire graduates to pursue career in academe as teachers.
The former president along with her son Camarines Sur Representative Diosdado Macapagal-Arroyo filed House Bill 3040, which aims to inspire graduates who took Mathematics and Science courses to pursue their careers as a teacher.
House Bill 3040 mandates temporary removal of licensure examination as requirement for teachers to be deployed and employed by schools. But teachers are still going to take and p(–foul word(s) removed–) the licensure examination on latter.
HB 3040 also aims to award scholarship grants with allowances for study visit as additional incentives in preparation for licensure examination.

Caamarines Sur Representative Diosdado Macapaga-Arroyo quoted, “It is also important to create and maintain an adequate pool of highly qualified, motivated and globally competitive teachers, particularly in the area of science and mathematics, to enable and strengthen the Philippines in its aim of becoming globally competitive.”
“Science and technology are essential for national development progress, and the State declared its policy and objectives that priority shall be given to science and technology education, training and services, research and development, invention, innovation and utilization,” the politician added further.
The House Bill 3040 seeks to give special rewards with additional cash incentives for top 20 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) p(–foul word(s) removed–)ers Bachelor of Science in Education major in Science and Math.
Meanwhile, Congresswoman Arroyo is under hospital arrest after an alleged misuse of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) fund.
