The movie Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir (Journey of a Young Saint) is one of the official entry of the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2013) which features the Rocco Nacino as the lead actor.

Pedro Calungsod movie is a 2013 Filipino biographical film depicting the life, struggles and martyrdom of the second Filipino saint, the first one from the Visayas, Saint Pedro Calaungsod.
The MMFF-entry movie is directed by Francis O. Villacorta and produced by HPI Synergy Group and Wings Entertainment. It is scheduled to release this coming December 25, 2013.
The second Filipino saint, Saint Pedro Calungsod was born ca. 1654, according to historical records his exact place of origin was never mentioned but he was only identified as “Pedro Calonsor, El Visayo.”
When Calungsod were around 14 years old, he was one of the exemplary young catechists who was chosen to accompany the Jesuits in their mission to the Ladrones Islands (Islas de los Ladrones or “Isles of Thieves”). He travelled with Spanish Jesuit missionaries to these islands which was renamed into Mariana Islands.
Pedro Calungsod and San Vitores went to Guam to catechise the native Chamorros, this is also the place where the two Christians were killed.
