A certain Elmer de Guzman posted a photo on Facebook claiming that he was charged with more than P3 million by Globe Telecom after he made a trip to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Elmer de Guzman’s screen shot of his bill amounting to P3,272,638.38 was posted on Facebook and it went viral immediately after it was shared by netizens online. As of posting time, the viral photo has already garnered more than 2.4K Shares and more than 1K Likes.
According to the Globe subscriber from Bulacan, the huge chunk of the charges was due to data roaming charges, he was also charged with more than P400,000 for roaming calls.
Mr. De Guzman was surprised with the huge amount of bill amounting to more than P3 million since he availed Globe’s promo labeled “Bridge DataRoam Unlimited UAE for USD 55 (5 days).” The bill also posted that he was charged for said data roaming promo.
Based upon the breakdown page, the majority of the amount was due to the high volume of bandwidth consumed charged by DU Telecom of UAE. He was charged with over P500K for almost 2GB worth of data in almost 24 hours session.
