Valenzuela Liquor Ban Extended “Indefinitely” – P5,000 Fine

Liquor Ban Extended In Valenzuela “Indefinitely”

VALENZUELA LIQUOR BAN EXTENDED – Much like the previous enhanced community quarantine, several areas in the Metro imposed a liquor ban.

Supposedly, Valenzuela city’s liquor would be over on April 4. However, as the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise, the local government decided on an extension.

Similarly, the government also floated the idea of extending the ECQ for another week. According to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, one week of lockdowns wasn’t enough to contain the spread of COVID-19, especially with the presence of more contagious variants.

In line with this, Valenzuela City announced through its Facebook page that:

The #LiquorBan in Valenzuela City is EXTENDED indefinitely. The sale, purchase, delivery, and consumption of alcoholic beverages are STILL prohibited.

This was part of the city’s #StaySober Ordinance that illegalizes the sale, purchase, and delivery of alcoholic beverages. Furthermore, the city also prohibits any individual to appear, traverse, or loiter in the public areas within the city while under the influence of alcohol.

Those caught breaking this ordinance, both individuals and establishments will receive a fine of P5,000 per violation. Afterward, authorities would confiscate the alcoholic drinks. Meanwhile, businesses registered with the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) would be penalized with revocation of permits.
