Relatives of Claire dela Fuente confirmed that she died
OPM Icon Claire dela Fuente died at the age of 62 on the morning of March 30 as her relatives have confirmed.
Claire is one of the popular singer who made it big in the 1970s. She earned the moniker Asia’s Sweetest Voice because of her love songs that entertained the hearts of many people.
The OPM icon popularized the songs Minsan, Minsan, Nakaw na Pag-ibig, and Sayang. She is also being called the Karen Carpenters of the Philippines.
Throughout her years in the music industry, she has inspired many music lovers as well as those who aspire to be part of the local music scene. That is the reason why her passing away is a great shock to many people.
Based on the recent Twitter post of Kapamilya entertainment reporter MJ Felipe, relatives of Claire dela Fuente confirmed that she died on Tuesday morning. This information was shared to composer/producer Jonathan Manalo who is close to the family of the OPM Icon.
According to the initial information that MJ Felipe shared on his social media account, Claire’s cause of death was cardiac arrest.
Previously, Claire dela Fuente and her son Gigo de Guzman faced a tough time amid the pandemic. It is because the latter became one of the suspects in the Christine Dacera Case. The veteran singer never left the side of her son in this battle and showed her support for him.

While encountering that hurdle in their lives as a mother, Claire showed optimism. “This is so unfair, but I know that God has a reason for all of these. The truth is on our side and I am confident na malulusutan ito ng anak ko,” she said in a previous interview.
