GSIS Warns Public Against Phishing Attacks

GSIS – The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) recently warned its members, pensioners, and claimants against phishing attacks.

The agency warns its clients against phishing attempt that made it seem like it came from the personnel pretending to be a part of the agency.

Phishing is described as a scam aiming to trick recipients into disclosing sensitive personal data and confidential information. It comes in the form of texts, e-mails, or messages that were forwarded via social media platforms.

“Please be reminded that GSIS will never ask for your personal information unless it allows us to properly respond to your inquiries or quickly process your applications or transactions,”

“All transacting clients, as well as the general public, are thus advised to remain on alert for smishing (text scams) and fraudulent online activities,”

Based on the report, the agency added that it asked its clients to immediately report suspicious messages to their servicing GSIS office.
