Vaccine Drive Simulation Successful Says Vaccine Czar
VACCINE DRIVE SIMULATION – Recently, a simulation exercise for the Philippines’ vaccine drive turned out as a success according to vaccine czar, Carlito Galvez.
According to Galvez, the simulation drive even went better and faster than expected. He explained that the government gave 120 minutes for the simulation. But to his surprise, the simulation was finished in 50 minutes.
Maganda ‘yung execution, ibig sabihin natin ‘yung lahat ng mga parts, ‘yung mga driver, ‘yung mga operator and even ‘yung mga utility, they precisely [did] their part
Furthermore, Galvez emphasized that there is no room for error when the vaccines begin to roll out, especially since the Pfizer-BioNTech doses are expected in the Philippines soon. Additionally, Galvez noted the importance of the simulation as the vaccines may spoil when outside the storage warehouse for long periods.
Meanwhile, Department of Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said:
Along all of these processes, we monitor the temperature of the vaccines so that we can see what would be the changes in the temperature in all of these processes so that we can address gaps, if ever, so that we don’t have wastage of these vaccines
The Philippines is expected to to receive over 117,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNtech’s COVID-19 vaccine. With this, around 58,500 health workers could be inoculated with the vaccine against the new coronavirus.
Afterward, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said the excess doses would be given to health workers in the military and police.
