Shadow and Bone: First Look At Netflix’s Upcoming Fantasy Series

Netflix is set to release a new fantasy series titled Shadow and Bone and here is the first look at the adaptation of Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse novels.

Another new series will be unraveled soon for the subscribers of the popular streaming site.

In a war-torn world, a lowly soldier and orphan Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li)has just unleashed an extraordinary power. This could be the key to setting her country free.

Alina struggles in honing her power because she realizes that enemies and allies can be one and the same. She is also thinking that in a lavish world where she lives, nothing is what it seems.

Alina has to face dangerous forces and she needs more than just magic for survival.

Based on the article in Deadline, the upcoming fantasy series released photos to tease fans. Shadow and Bone is an eight-episode series that was shot in Budapest, Hungary.

Also included in the cast are Archi Renaux as Malyen Oretsev, Freddy Carter as Kaz Brekker, Amita Suman as Inej, Kit Young as Jesper Fahey, and Ben Barnes as General Kirigan.

Eric Heisserer is the showrunner, writer, and executive producer of the new fantasy series. Other executives of the series are Bardugo, Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen and Josh Barry for 21 Laps Entertainment and Pouya Shahbazian (Loom Studios).

Shadow and Bone will start streaming on April 23.
