Duterte Takes Jab At Pfizer, Critics Who Question Sinovac
DUTERTE TAKES JAB AT PFIZER – President Rodrigo Duterte personally confronted Critics of China’s Sinovac Vaccine during his public address yesterday.
For the longest time, the Philippine government expressed support for Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine. As such, this became the government’s priority vaccine for the first quarter of 2021.
However, critics raised concerns due to the lack of transparency regarding the vaccine’s procurement. Earlier, Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez emphasized that they cannot disclose the price of the vaccine.
He explained that this may cause hurt feelings from other countries who bought Sinovac at a higher price. Meanwhile, Duterte himself took jabs at critics and said:
Gusto ninyong Pfizer, kayong mga senador? In Norway, 25 persons died after recieving Pfizer vaccination.
Duterte responded with this after senators expressed favor for Pfizer and BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine. However, authorities from Norway have yet to confirm if the vaccine was responsible for the deaths of the inoculated eldery.
