Teri Malvar: Best Actress Winner in CineFilipino Film Fest Upsets Nora Aunor

The lead actress of the movie “Ang Huling Cha-Cha ni Anita,” Teri Malvar, made a huge upset in the recently concluded CineFilipino Film Festival awards night held at the Genting Club in Resort World Manila on Sunday, September 22, 2013.

The 13-year-old Teri Malvar wins the Best Actress Award against veteran star Nora Aunor showcasing the biggest upset in the first-ever CineFilipino Film Fest. Teri played the role of Anita, together with veteran star, Angel Aquino who also won as Best Supporting Actress, the casts celebrated with the huge win during the awarding ceremony yesterday, night.

Aside from the Best Actress and the Best Supporting Actress given to the film, “Ang Huling Cha-Cha ni Anita,” the movie also won the Best Acting Ensemble award. Teri Malvar’s Best Actress Award is her first major acting award.

The movie featuring veteran star Nora Aunor, titled, “Ang Kwento ni Mabuti,” was named as the Best Feature Film, along with “Ang Huling Cha-Cha ni Anita,” The director of Nora’s movie, Direk Mes de Guzman, also won the Best Director and Best Screenplay awards.

Other awardees includes Karl Medina who was named as Best Actor, Bong Cabrera won the Best Supporting Actor award, the two actors’s movie was titled as “The Guerilla is a Poet.”
