Gwiyomi Singer Hari Visits Philippines Thankful for Filipino Fans (Video)

Hari, the original singer of the YouTube viral hit video, “Gwiyomi,” visits the Philippines and thanks her fans in the country for supporting her. The song which was also dubbed as the “cutie song,” went viral online with some of the famous Filipino celebrities rendering their own version of Gwiyomi.

According to the 23-year-old singer who arrived in Manila on Wednesday to promote the her single, she felt like she’s still dreaming with the huge success of Gwiyomi not only in the Philippines but also worldwide.

Hari also revealed that she had seen different versions of Gwiyomi from the Philippines, she was quoted during a press conference on Thursday that, “I have seen everything, the different versions even from the Philippins so I know how it went viral. I was actually surprised at first,” Hari said through an interpreter.

The viral hit, Gwiyomi, known for its “cute hand dance,” supposedly started in October 2012 when a member of Korean boy band BtoB made a series of hand movements to woo his fans on a cable TV show.

The Gwiyomi craze erupted on the internet, Filipinos quickly joined the trend of doing the hand dance, with popular comedian and “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda leading the craze as he frequently performed the “cutie song,” on national TV.
