They can directly work with attorneys, defendants, offenders, victims, pupils, families, or with patients within the correction and rehabilitation centers of the state.

This branch also has a broad and narrow definition, with the broader one being that it involves with the application of all psychological areas of research to the legal field. the narrow definition, on the other hand, deals with the application of clinical specialties to legal institutions and people who come into contact with the law.
It was officially recognized by the American Psychological Association (APA) as a specialty in 2001 with its narrow definition under the Specialty Guidelines for Forensic Psychologists.
