DSWD Warns SAP Beneficiaries As They Are Targeted By Scammers

SAP BENEFICIARIES TARGETED BY SCAMMERS – The Department of Social Welfare and Development warned SAP beneficiaries of scams regarding cash aid.

In DSWD’s official Facebook page, they posted:

Muling pinapaalala ng DSWD Field Office NCR na maging maingat ang publiko sa pagtangkilikg sa mga Facebook pages na nagpapanggap na taga-DSWD at namamahagi ng ayuda sa ilalim ng Social Amelioration Program.

Tuminign lamang sa mga opisyal na Facebook pages ng DSWD Central Office, DSWD Field Offices, at City Social Welfare and Development Offices para sa wastong anunsyo at impormasyon.

According to the DSWD, some pages on online social media platforms such as Facebook are being used for phishing personal information from online scammers. Afterward, this information may be used to commit online theft.

Furthermore, the DSWD warned SAP beneficiaries not to give away their M-Pin, one-time pin and other information to suspicious individuals online.

Additionally, the DSWD stated:

Maging maingat sa pagtangkilik ng mga Facebook page na nagsasabing sila ay parte ng DSWD at sila ay namimigay ng ayuda mula sa Emergency Subsidy Program – Soical Amelioration Program o ESP-SAP.

Moreover, they emphasized that only the DSWD Central Office, Field offices, ad City Social Welfare offices are those who can give correct information regarding the ESP-SAP of the DSWD.

The SAP is a cash aid given by the government to families that have been severely affected by the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

Currently, the Philippines has recorded over 143,000 cases of COVID-19. Of that number, at least 2,404 have succumbed to the deadly disease. Meanwhile, 68,997 have recovered.
