Kindhearted Landlord Lifts Rent, Gives Tenants Sack Of Rice
KINDHEARTED LANDLORD LIFTS RENT – Facebook netizen Marron Leynes shared the generous gestures of their landlord.
Amid the coronavirus crisis in the Philippines, several thousand workers have temporary lost their jobs. As such, families struggle to find ways to pay for necessities such as rent.
In lieu of this, the government gave out COVID-19 cash aid to affected residents under its Social Amelioration Program (SAP). However, not everybody was lucky enough to receive the benefits.
Knowing this, the landlord of Marron Leynes lifted the rent of his tenants for three months. Additionally, the tenants were also given a sack of rice to help them get through the quarantine period.
According to the Facebook post of KaBatang, Marron Leynes stated:
Bale pang 3 months na sila hindi nagpapayad, then this month, nagkusa na ako magbayad, kasi nahihiya din ako.
Pero, after ko ibigay ang bayad, nachat sakin ang anak from Italy na ibabalik daw sa akin ang binayad ko, after a few hours may bigas pa na binigay.
(So, I wasn’t paying for rent for three months. Then, I decided to pay the rent because I felt guilty. But, after I paid my rent, his son messaged me saying he’d return the payment. After a few hours, I was also given a sack of rice),
Furthermore, Marron added that all the other tenants were also given rice. Marron said that 3 months worth of rent is a big blow to their landlord’s business. However, they still gave relief goods,
