Riza Santos was declared as the winner of the recently concluded Miss Universe Canada 2013 beauty pageant after the mistake was clarified by the Beauties of Canada (BOC), the producer of Miss Universe Canada pageant.
An interesting turn of events happened during the announcement of winners in the 2013 Miss Canada beauty pageant, wherein Miss Universe Canada 2013 winner was given to Denise Garrido, but was later declared as the 3rd Runner-up, while elevating Riza Santos as the new title-holder.
The Miss Universe Canada organizers explained that during the validation of the computerized scoring results on Sunday, a typo error was discovered in the top 5 entries which significantly impacted the final results of the competition.
