Gay Group in Leyte Started Distributing of Relief Goods to Residents

TANAUAN, LEYTE – generous gay group launches relief drive in their town to give goods to residents who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite gender criticisms, this organization of gays gives hopes to the residents of Tanauan, Leyte after they launched relief drive. This, to help fellow residents whose livelihoods were greatly affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Arman Villero, a teacher at Tanauan National High School and core member of Tanauan Gays Association (TGAS) said: “We support the ‘Bayanihan’ this time, especially to the gays who don’t have works or whose works were affected by the current situation.”

With its named “Gugma han Bayot ha Igkasi-Bayot” relief activity, they distributed packages to 100 gays living in 22 barangays of Tanauan, Monday, April 27. Recipients includes of makeup artists, salon workers, event organizers, performers, hosts, and homosexual seniors.

According to the article of Sunstar Tacloban, all have received their relief packs containing food and grocery items, toiletries, and face masks. Villero also said that they will launch their second wave of relief operations when they receive donations from other groups.

Villero thanked their various sponsors, locally and overseas, for their financial assistance. He also praised the leadership of TGAS President Othniel Olino, a principal assigned to Jaro, Leyte.
