Five Individuals In Culasi Town, Antique, Nabbed For Violating ECQ

CULASI TOWN – Five individuals, including a barangay chief in Culasi town were arrested in the said town in Antique for violating ECQ.

According to Panay News, they were arrested at a warehouse owned by the town mayor Jeffrey Lomugdang which is located in Barangay Centro Norte in the said town, said Captain Bryan Alamo of the local municipal police station.

The officers identified the violators as Julius Eric Tamba, the village chief of Barangay Jalandoni; Avelino Bermudez, tricycle driver of Barangay Jalandoni; Llyod Eric Salazar, PUV driver of Barangay Jalandoni; Rafael Cabangon, tricycle driver of Barangay Centro Norte; and Frenz Roy Lomugdang, of Barangay Fe and mayor Lomugdang’s driver.

Alamo said that they received messages from the mayor himself to inspect his warehouse after reports states that his driver, who was the birthday celebrant, and some outsiders were having a drinking session on April 12.

“I hope that today’s arrest will serve as an example or warning to other people in this town who are still stubborn.” 

The said violators were locked up in the local municipal station.

As per the report, they will be charged for violating Executive Order 21, series of 2020, also known as the Enhanced Community Quarantine Policy on Liquor Ban and Unauthorized Gathering. They will also face charges for violating of Republic Act 11332
