Bacolod City Shooting On Weekend Leaves One Man Injured
BACOLOD CITY – One man was injured after he was shot at Hacienda Rosario Sur, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
According to SunStar, the incident occurred on February 1, 2020 (Saturday). The police identified the victim as Reynante Langote, a resident of Barangay Granada.
Local City Police Office spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico reported that Langote received a wound on his abdomen after getting shot by the suspect, identified as Jeycerel Medel using an unidentified firearm at about 11:30 PM.
Langote was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital while Medel fled away from the crime scene.
Pico added that Police Station 5 is currently investigating further to know the motive of the crime and to arrest the suspect, who is currently at large.
As per the report, on the other hand, Pico said that a 35-year-old man was arrested by operatives of Police Station 9 in a drug bust at Purok Seawall, Barangay Pta. Taytay of the same city on Sunday morning (February 2).
The arrested was identified as Ryan Carnecer, a resident of Barangay Pta. Taytay.
Carnercer was arrested after he sold a sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride (locally known as shabu) to a police undercover at about 1 AM.
Recovered from the suspect were three more sachets of illegal drugs worth at around ₱20,000 and marked money. Carnecer was a drug surrenderee in Escalante City.
He is currently detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 9 and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
