699 Overweight Police in Zamboanga Are Endanger to be Dismissed in Service
The 699 police personnel from Police Regional Office 9 (PRO 9) may be removed from the service who are considered obese or overweight.

According to the report of Abante, PRO 9 Regional Director Brigadier General Froilan Quidilla summoned senior police officers from their mother units to report to the regional headquarters for body mass index (BMI) evaluation.
BMI evaluation is part of the PNP’s internal cleansing program. Under these conditions, obese cops should be able to lose two kilos in their weight each month until they reach their normal BMI range.

Severely underweight police need to add one to three kilos of weight per month to reach their normal BMI range. Obese policemen, on the other hand, should lose two pounds a month.
Police identified as overweight at Isabela City Police Station, Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office, Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office, Zamboanga City Police Office, Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9.

In the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office there are 86 obese cops and 25 in the Police combat force of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9.
“Everyone must be fit in performing law enforcement jobs. BMI should have strictly complied as part of the internal cleansing program otherwise a dismissal order is sought against any member of the PNP,” Quidilla warned.
Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar also encouraged the elderly police to take part in weekly zumba sessions held at the Mayor Joaquin Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex.
