NDRRMC: Death Toll Of Mindanao Earthquake Rose To 7

NDRRMC – Risk and disaster agency NDRRMC confirms that the death toll of the recent series of earthquakes in Mindanao rose to 7.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council added that most fatalities are from Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental, while 49 citizens were injured.

According to Inquirer, about 1,961 families or 9,755 citizens were displaced in the 12 barangays in Region XI (Davao Region). Most of them are currently sheltered in 13 evacuation centers.

As of December 16 (Sunday), the agency confirmed at about 556 aftershocks ever since the earthquake hit Davao Del Sur on Sunday, with 55 of them relatively strong and troubled residents.

Meanwhile, the number of public structures damaged by the series of quakes in the Davao and Soccsksargen regions rose to 36.

Based on the report, this also includes seven totally damaged buildings and 11 partially damaged school buildings in Davao del Sur and Sarangani.
