Philippines Will Host the 11th Asian Swimming Championships 2020
After the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, the Philippines will again be hosting another international sports competition, in particular to the swimming category.
Sports officials were excited to announce that the Philippines will officially be hosting the 11th Asian Swimming Championships in November 2020. This is the first time that the country will handle an ASC event that happens every four years.
In a report of CNN, a signing ceremony and press conference were held by The Asian Swimming Federation (ASF), the Philippine Swimming Inc. (PSI), and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA). They announced that the 11th Asian Swimming Championships (ASC) will be held in November 2020.
The international sports competition is going to be held at the New Clark City Athletics and Aquatics Center; the same location where previous SEA Games water sports events took place.
Delegates from 50 different countries are about to compete in five separate divisions such as swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized swimming, and open water swimming. the Asian Swimming Federation (ASF) were initially choosing between Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines to host the event.
Fortunately, they chose the Philippines because of its outstanding aquatic facilities in the New Clark City. It will be the first time for the Philippines to host the ASC, which will happen just months after the Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
