Filipino-American coach of the Miami Heat was chosen as the head coach of the Eastern Conference All-Star Team in the upcoming 62nd NBA All-Star Game which will be held this coming February 17, 2013.
The Miami Heat head coach, Spoelstra who originally hails from Bulacan, will guide the East All-Star Team after his team leads the Eastern Conference record with a total of 30-14 win-loss card.
The All-Star Game will be held in Houston, Texas, Spoelstra will go up against the league-leading coach Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs has an impressive record of 38-11, win-loss slate, leading all teams in the NBA.
During last year’s All-Star Game between the East and the West, Chicago’s Tom Thibodeau led the East while Scott Brooks of the Oklahoma City Thunder guide the West’s victory with the final score at 152-149 in the All-Star Game held in Orlando, Florida.
