There are some confusions regarding the Holidays in the Philippines. For the past few days there were numerous inquiries regarding the December 26 and the January 2, 2013 date.
According to Malacañang, the seat of Office of the Philippine President, they declared that December 26, 2012 and January 2, 2013, both fall on a Wednesday, not holidays.
The declaration is based upon Proclamation No. 295 and Proclamation No. 459 declaring the regular holidays, special (non-working) days, and special holidays for the years 2012 and 2013.
The Filipinos will still enjoy this year’s two long weekends because December 24 (Monday), December 25, December 30 (Friday), December 31, and January 1, 2013 are all declared holidays.
