Jose Calida Calls For The Resignation Of The Current IBP President
CALIDA – The Solicitor General made a statement last Thursday calling for the resignation of the current Integrated Bar of the Philippines or IBP’s president.
Backed by the chief lawyer of the government, Davao City’s IBP criticized IBP’s retiring President Abdiel Dan Elijah Fajardo for allegedly permitting the use of the IBP office as a ‘staging area’ for the self-proclaiming Bikoy’s press conference.
In a statement released by Calida, he insinuated that the IBP – the Philippine lawyers’ official organization – was turned into a ‘highly politicized’ group by Fajardo.
Solicitor General Jose Calida called for Fajardo’s resignation last Thursday claiming that Fajardo is “using his position to advance his personal political agenda.”
Calida expressed his disappointment in his statements directed towards the IBP President:
“He is a disgrace to the IBP. He does not speak for all the members of the IBP. But his actions reflect badly on the organization and consequently, the legal profession.”
This is accorind to an article from MSN News.
He also claim that the IBP President’s actions “…betrayed his intentions to make the organization a venue for his political aspirations.”
Meanwhile, the IBP denied that they sent invitations for the press and media organizations to cover Peter Joemel Advincula’s reveal last Monday.
Advincula was also denied of free legal assistance by the IBP’s National Center for Legal Aid.
The hooded narrator or Alyas Bikoy in the viral The Real Narcolist video – that revealed sensitive and controversial information about the President’s relatives and company – revealed his identity to the public.
That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
