Cebu Pacific Apologizes For Cancellation Of Scheduled Flights
CEBU PACIFIC – The budget airline company expressed their apologies after the unexpected flight cancellations since April 23, 2019.
An advisory was posted by Cebu Pacific Airlines on Sunday showing a list of cancelled flights from April 28 to April 30, 2019.
Following the announcement of flight cancellations, Cebu Pacific spokesperson Charo Logarta-Lagamon revealed several reasons behind them.
This is based on an article from ABS-CBN News. According to the article,
The Cebu Pacific spokesperson told DZMM that their operations ‘choked’ due to many reasons. The reasons she mentioned include: damaged aircrafts and massive air traffic that delayed the departure and arrival schedules of certain flights.
In a conversation with DZMM, she also said:
“Samu’t sari, sanga-sanga at damay-damay na mga kadahilanan. Wala namang iisang root cause ang mga problema na ito.”
“Various, interlinked and comprising causes. There isn’t one determined root cause of these problems.”
According to her, the issue even reached to a point when the company’s network can’t cope with the demands that it can ‘no longer breathe’. It ‘choked’.
While at least 50 flights were cancelled since last week, Lagamon was asked why other carriers were not affected by the massive air traffic.
She explained that Cebu Pacific airlines caters to at least twice as much domestic flights than other carrier companies.
A recent breach in the carrier’s system was also reported. However, Lagamon said that this has nothing to do with the flight cancellations.
It also wasn’t because the flight reservations were overbooked. Overbooking of flights is prohibited by the Civil Aeronautics Board.
Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific is willing to help affected passengers to the best of their extent.
That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
