Meanwhile, a 27-year-old Pinoy game creator named Niley Bacolcol created a 3D video game titled Balete City.
Based on a report from Esquiremag, the video game is a Filipino themed 3D fantasy game that features the beliefs, culture,
“I had the chance to work with the T’boli group for my undergraduate thesis; I was exposed to the vast and wonderful world of the tribe’s spirits, beliefs, and mythology. From there, a fire to discover more sparked inside my heart,” said Niley.
According to the report, Niley Bacolcol first worked with a digital novel titled Balete High until he decided to make it a video game. The creator said this is his way of reminding his fellow Filipino about the mythology of the country.
The video game is filled with characters of
“After learning necessary skills in game development, I then turned this story into an RPG game,” he said.
Based on the report, the game developers are looking for interested artist and developers who wanted to contribute their skills.
The Pinoy video game wanted to promote and educate all their fellowmen about the beautiful culture of the Philippines that is almost forgotten.
