The Philippine Azkals will face Malaysia this coming February 29, 2012 for a friendly match as a preparation of the upcoming 2012 AFC Challenge Cup this coming March.
The Azkals who were successful during their stint in the Middle East for the training camps that honed their skills and made everybody comfortable with each others although they lost two games in three match-up.
The National Team was under thorough preparation and they invited the current AFF and SEA Games Champion Malaysian National Football Team to visit the Philippines for an international friendly match.
Right now the Philippines is ranked at the number 28 in AFC while Malaysia ranked at # 25. In the world ranking the Philippines ranked at 156 while Malaysia ranked at 150.
The game against Malaysia this coming February 29 is one of the significant event in Philippine Football. The game against Malaysia is one of the significant things that happened on Philippine football, for the Philippines have defeated the Malaysians during the 1991 SEA Games.
The Philippine Team succeeded in overthrowing the Malaysians to enter the Semi-finals of the Football match last November 28, 1991 at the same stadium, the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
