A report from ABS-CBN News says that a computer will determine which meets the highest committed level of service criteria. Then the officials will check the documents before the slot is granted.
As per the report, here are the following contenders:
- MISLATEL – A firm which is composed of China Telecom and Davao Tycoon Dennis Uy’s Udenna Corp and Chelsea Logistics, in which they recently announced their partnership. China Telecom is one of China’s biggest carriers, which have 281.6 million subscribers at the end of the first half of 2018. The total base of CT is thrice the population of the Philippines. Dennis Uy, on the other hand, staked Philex Petroleum, his business, into stakes in shipping in 2GO, the Philippine operator of FamilyMart, Enderun and ISM Communications Corp.
- TIER1 – Tier 1 has branches in Manila, Davao City and Maguindanao. This firm is supported by former Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Chavit” Singson’s LCS Corp. In 2017, after it received a $6 million capital infusion, TIER1 filed registration papers with the Philippine Stock Exchange. It aims to build 50,000 cell sites.
- PT&T – Philippine Telegraph and Telephone Corp was founded in 1962. The firm serves small and medium businesses and residential customers. It operates a “pure fiber” network for fast connections. It posted net income of ₱24.7 million for the fiscal year ending June 2018, on the back of a 62-percent rise in revenues to ₱201 million.
