K-POP FANDOMS- Soompi Awards features the Top 10 best K-pop fandom on Twitter on its 13th annual awarding season.
K-pop and K-drama fans around the world stayed updated on social media to vote on their favorite Korean celebrities in time for the annual Soompi Awards.
Soompi Awards is one of the largest and longest-running international awards crediting the best in Korean Entertainment Industry. It has been established by the year 2005, but this year was its first time to collect the global online community’s votes using Twitter as the social media platform.
Based on a report from Manila Standard, fans of the famous boy group GOT7 emerged as the winner for the Twitter Best Fandom Award Category, having able to tally nearly 40 percent of the total number of voting tweets. The fandom, also called as iGOT7 successfully safeguarded their Best Fandom title for the third year in a row.
GOT7 also won the Latin America Popularity Award and is crowned as this year’s Best Male K-pop Group, cementing their position as a heavyweight in the Hallyu Wave.
Classified by the total number of tweets after only 24 hours of voting period, the winning group is followed by BTS, EXO and Super Junior as 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively.
