Enrique Razon Surpasses All Billionaires to Become the Philippines Richest Person
ENRIQUE RAZON – A stunning jump in wealth has propelled Enrique Razon Jr. to the No. 1 spot among the Philippines’ richest individuals.
Ports and casino tycoon Enrique Razon Jr. became the richest Filipino in 2026 after his fortune reached a record $21.8 billion, or approximately ₱1.31 trillion. After ranking as the second-richest Filipino in previous years, Razon claimed the No. 1 spot in Forbes Philippines’ 50 Richest list for 2026. His wealth increased by $10.3 billion, or around ₱618 billion, in just one year.
According to Forbes, the rapid global expansion of Razon’s company, International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI), played a major role in his dramatic rise. The company’s growth helped push up its share price, further increasing Razon’s fortune.
Meanwhile, the Sy siblings, heirs of the SM empire founded by the late Henry Sy Sr., fell to second place after years of dominating the top spot.
Their combined wealth is estimated at $9.2 billion, or ₱552 billion, down by $2.6 billion, or ₱156 billion, from the previous year. Forbes attributed the decline partly to weaker shares of SM Prime Holdings Inc. amid a slowdown in the residential property market.
San Miguel Corp. chair and CEO Ramon Ang climbed to third place despite a slight decrease in his fortune. He now has an estimated $3.5 billion, or ₱210 billion.
Puregold founders Lucio and Susan Co entered the Top 5 for the first time, ranking fourth with an estimated $3.3 billion, or ₱198 billion. Isidro Consunji and his siblings of DMCI Holdings placed fifth with approximately $3 billion, or ₱180 billion.

Forbes also reported that the minimum fortune needed to enter the 2026 list remained at $185 million, or roughly ₱11.1 billion.
Outside the Top 10, the Aboitiz family ranked 11th with $2.2 billion, followed by Jollibee founder Tony Tan Caktiong and his family at No. 12 with $2 billion.
Lance Gokongwei and siblings ranked 13th with $1.9 billion, while Alliance Global founder Andrew Tan placed 14th with $1.8 billion. The Po family of Century Pacific Food completed the Top 15 with an estimated $1.6 billion.
Despite Razon’s extraordinary rise, the overall picture for the country’s wealthiest Filipinos was not entirely positive.
