Kapamilya A-list Piolo Pascual reacted to being called a “heartthrob” even though he is now 49 years old.
Piolo is popularly known as the “Ultimate Heartthrob.” From being part of the youth-oriented variety show That’s Entertainment in the early 90s, he was able to prove that he is worthy of his own spotlight in the entertainment industry.
With his remarkable roles in various projects, his status as an actor was strongly cemented. He gained respect and admiration from his colleagues and fans.
Even he is nearing his golden years, Piolo Pascual is still being admired because of his looks, and with this, endorsement projects kept on coming. Based on the article in ABS- CBN Entertainment, the A-list actor also has several magazine cover stints even at his age now.
“One thing I’m realizing now is I know this is not going to last long because it’s been so long already (laughs). During an interview, I was okay with being called ‘Papa P’, but to be called ‘Ultimate Heartthrob’ at 50 or 55, I think it’s kind of stretching it,” the actor said.
With this, Piolo said that he is transitioning from being called Papa P to Tito P. He said that the “Ultimate Hearttrob can go away, and he does not mind because he knows that it is not forever. The actor is just showing appreciation.
“I’m 50, man. And to be given this kind of cover, I’m like, wow, salamat. But I’d never stop there. I’m still going to carry on, I’m still going to move on and not just dwell on this but to prove myself again, time and again. Not just rest on my laurels. I’ll stretch it as much as I can, if I can,” the Kapamilya actor said.
Piolo Pascual is also aware that most of his loyal fans are now parents, and for him, this is connected to how close he is to his mother. “I think it’s because of my relationship with my mom. Like they see how I am with my mom, how much respect I have for her,” he shared, adding that he is also respectful to women around him since he has four sisters.
Meanwhile, when Piolo Pascual reached 40, he already hinted at retirement, but then, he realized that there is a lot more he can do in showbiz. Now, he still continues showcasing his acting caliber.
