Coco Martin was one of the artists who showed support for ABS-CBN
Primetime action star Coco Martin and other Kapamilya stars showed support for ABS-CBN amid the Lopez family conflict.
The Kapamilya network has honed many of the brightest stars in the Philippine entertainment industry. This was one of the reasons why, even without having its franchise amid the pandemic, many celebrities still chose to be with their home network.
Even though many employees lost their jobs, and some opted to seek greater opportunities elsewhere, the media continued to evolve. Without its franchise, ABS-CBN has become a content provider for different platforms, including its previous close rival, GMA Network.

Another challenging time came just recently, when it was reported that there was a conflict within the Lopez family, the clan behind the media giant.
Based on the report from Inquirer, Federico “Piki” Lopez proposed shutting down the network last year. However, the majority of directors opposed the move. considering the thousands of employees.
ABS-CBN has officially released a statement on this conflict. In the statement, the company stressed that the family dispute should not be for public consumption and they intend to address the issue privately.
After this, several Kapamilya star expressed their support for their home network. Among them were Coco Martin and his longtime partner, actress Julia Montes.
Julia’s Instagram page shared the statement from Coco’s CCM Productions, which stressed that they will “not allow the hope, passion, and spirit of our Kapamilya community to be diminished.” The couple also believed that ABS-CBN would rise again.
Aside from Coco Martin and Julia Montes, actress Shaina Magdayao, comedian-host Melai Cantiveros, and TV host Robi Domingo also expressed support for ABS-CBN through their social media posts.
OPM icon Ogie Alcasid, as well as Pinoy Big Brother host Bianca Gonzalez, shared their heartfelt messages for ABS-CBN.
Actor JM de Guzman wrote his thoughts on this, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity that his home network gave him.
