Former Barangay Captain Dan Toledanes was seen in a video assaulting one of his workers.

Netizen @migwapa32 on Reddit shared a video via r/ChikaPH, showing that a man wearing a black jacket with “Punong Barangay” print at the back was assaulting a man wearing a blue shirt.

It can be seen in the video that the man wearing a blue shirt was trying to get away, but a man wearing a red wrong sleeves was grabbing him, and the one hitting continued what he was doing.

In the comment section of the post, a netizen shared that the story about this incident was posted on the Facebook account of “Juan Dela Cruzz.”

According to Reynold Villegas, who appeared to be the man being assaulted, this is how “Kapitan Dan Toledanes” would treat his workers. It was said that the former Barangay Captain would accuse them of stealing and selling illegal drugs.

In the post, it was also stated that this is how Toledanes would assault them if they were accused of doing something wrong. The netizen’s post asked for help from Sen. Raffy Tulfo’s program and radio station Aksyon Radyo Laoag.

As this video caught the attention of the online community and has been shared on various social media platforms, the Mayor of Laoag City released an official statement.

Reports have already reached the office of the City Mayor regarding the viral video recording circulating on social media lately showing alleged acts of violence involving individuals who were initially identified as a former Punong Barangay and the others were claimed to be laborers/ workers of a certain Construction firm in Laoag City,” the statement on the City Government of Laoag Facebook page stated.

The head of the city, Mayor James Bryan Alcid, also stated that he has already ordered the City PNP Chief to conduct a thorough investigation and provide a comprehensive report about the incident as soon as possible.

In the statement, Alcid stressed that the person assaulting another man was a former barangay captain. “For emphasis, the alleged person in the video recording is a former Punong Barangay, resigning officially from office sometime last year 2025,” the mayor said.

Alcid also stressed that his office does not condone any form of violence from anyone to anyone, and promised to monitor this matter.
