Angel Aquino talked about her role in ‘Batang Quiapo’
Actress Angel Aquino admitted that portraying Jackie Guerrero in the Kapamilya primetime series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo was challenging for her.
Angel has been in the entertainment industry for many years already. She was first known as a model, but she was able to have a smooth transition to acting, which proved her talent and caliber in portraying different characters.
In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN, Angel admitted that her role in the Kapamilya action drama series is one of the most challenging roles she ever had.
For her, the connection that the viewers have to the story will mean the success of an actor. If her character is being hated as a villain, this means that she is doing a good job in portraying the role.
“Ako mako-consider kong biggest achievement, if I am able to portray my character well and also kung… na-affect ko ‘yung mga tao bilang si Jackie Guerrero at napakita ko sa kanila na ‘yes, dapat kayong magalit sa mga tao tulad ni Jackie Guerrero at ng mga pamilya Guerrero’,” angel Aquino shared.
She did not mind portraying the “kontrabida” role in the series since she considered it a rewarding experience. Angel highlighted the collaborative atmosphere on the set.
The actress shared that she had an amazing experience working with Coco Martin, the lead actor and director of the series. “Masarap siya katrabaho. Gusto ko ‘yung proseso ni Coco. Na-appreciate ko at pinahahalagahan ko ‘yung tiwalang binibigay niya sa aming mga artista,” she said.
The actress also said that the series resonates with her because of the message it gives to the viewers. She liked that it has social relevance.
Last month, Coco confirmed that the series is about to end. Angel said that as the finale is nearing, viewers can expect more action-packed scenes, as well as shocking revelations.
“Dire-diretso na talaga ‘yung action, dire-diretso na ‘yung lahat ng revelation. You really have to hold your breath and stay at the edge of your seat because everything is exciting, thrilling, and scary actually,” Angel Aquino shared.
When it comes to her villain character, the actress said that the viewers can expect that justice will be served
