Alden Richards was honored to receive this recognition
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) honored Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards as the Most Valuable Taxpayer for 2025 during the 2026 Tax Campaign Kick-off held at the Jose Rizal Coliseum in Calamba, Laguna.
Alden is one of the most successful actors of his generation. From doing supporting roles, his home network, GMA, given him an opportunity to be a lead star in teleseryes and movies. His popularity skyrocketed through his onscreen partnership with Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza, known as the AlDub loveteam.
Eventually, Alden was able to establish businesses in addition to his successful career in the entertainment industry. With his success, the Kapuso actor never forgets to give back, as he did with his AR Foundation.
Alden Richards is also fulfilling his responsibility as a Filipino citizen by paying his taxes. This was the reason why BIR recognized him as Most Valuable Taxpayer for 2025.
Based on the article in Inquirer, in a video posted by Sparkle GMA Artist Center on February 28, the Kapuso actor is seen delivering a speech where he highlighted the vital role of tax compliance in nation-building and fulfilling one’s civic duties.
“I’m deeply humbled and grateful to be recognized as one of your most valuable taxpayers of 2025. This award is not just a personal achievement but actually a reminder of our shared responsibility bilang mamamayan ng ating bansa,” Alden Richards said.
The actor highlighted that tax compliance is a fundamental “commitment to nation-building.” Alden also noted that his influence as a public figure carries a significant responsibility to lead by example.
“As a public figure, I understand that influence comes with responsibility. I hope that through this recognition, more individuals, especially those in the private sector and the entertainment industry, will be encouraged to fulfill their tax obligations faithfully and transparently,” the Asia’s Multimedia Star stressed.
Alden Richards also said that being a responsible taxpayer is something that someone should be proud of. He said that being a taxpayer should be flaunted, and he reminded the public to pay the correct taxes and pay on time.
