Pacquiao Offered by World’s Richest Man $65M to fight a Mexican Boxer

People’s Champ and Pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao was offered a guarantee purse of $65 Million by the World’s richest man, Carlos Slim if he will accept the offer to fight a non defeated Mexican boxer.

Carlos Slim is a Billionaire in Mexico and has a great interest when it comes to the sport of Boxing. It was first reported in the Boxingscene.com site that Slim is offering Pacquiao a $65 Million purse in exchange for a fight against Mexican boxer Saul “Vanelo” Alvarez.

According to the reports, a negotiation between both parties is now on the process whether such offer will be accepted. Pacquiao is said to be represented by his team Pacquiao and his close friend Chavit Singson.

Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter and boss of Top Rank said in one of his interview that he will contact Singson as soon as possible regarding the fast spreading story. He also admitted that such offer is really a big opportunity and he will call Singson immediately on Monday for the latest update.

On the latest report from the Forbes.com, Carlos Slim currently have a wealth of around $60 billion dollars and he earned such fortune in telecommunications.

However, there is a conflict whether such fight will be pursued since the proposed opponent of Pacquiao which is Mexican boxer Alvarez is under the Golden Boy promotions.

Alvarez is a Boxer from Mexico and has an outstanding record of 36 wins, no loss and only one draw.

If such fight will be agreed, the other party must wait since Pacquiao is already scheduled to fight against Juan Manuel Marquez on November. But Arum said that the final decision is still in the hands of Manny Pacquiao.
