In a recent episode of the Kapamilya noontime show, singer-host Darren Espanto took notice of his bestie’s outfit. Kim Chiu was wearing a bright yellow modest-styled dress.
“Kagalang-galang,” Darren said to his bestie. Kim agreed as she said “yes” while gesturing her hands on her outfit. After that, Jackie, standing beside Darren, said, “lakambini.”
“Lakambini” is a Filipino word that is used to describe a noble and esteemed woman. It could also mean “muse” or “queen.” Obviously, Jackie wanted to compliment Kim. However, Kim jokingly said, “parang mali yon,” and she laughed. Other hosts also laughed at it, as Kim continued with her spiel.

Apparently, this has something to do with Kim’s sister, Lakambini Chiu. Last year, the actress-host faced a challenging chapter in her life as she personally filed a qualified theft against Lakam.
Even though Kim did talk about this, some speculations surfaced that Lakam spent hundreds of millions of pesos from Kim’s money. Last holidays, Lakam’s absence in Kim’s family post was so noticeable. The actress shared a post saying that her Christmas was a little different.
