KIRAY – Comedian Kiray Celis surprised fans after finally addressing the viral rumor about the jaw-dropping cost of her wedding gown.
Kiray Celis recently addressed the buzz surrounding her wedding gown during her guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, where she was joined by her husband, Stephan Estopia. During the interview, Kiray clarified rumors claiming that her wedding gown allegedly cost 5 million pesos, a figure that quickly circulated online following her wedding.
According to Kiray, the gown was not nearly as expensive as people speculated. Still, she admitted feeling flattered by the assumption. “Sobrang kinikilig ako na mukha palang 5 million yung gown ko,” she shared, adding that she took it as a compliment that people believed she could pull off something so grand. For Kiray, the reaction proved that confidence and self-expression matter more than price tags.
Kiray Celis revealed that she personally designed her wedding gown to ensure it reflected her dream style. She envisioned a long train paired with a simple yet elegant silhouette. While it looked graceful, the gown was far from light, weighing around 10 kilos. To prepare for her big walk, Kiray practiced moving slowly and calmly to handle the weight with ease on her wedding day.
Kiray also shared that she wore a total of five gowns throughout the celebration. Each gown was assigned for different parts of the event: preparation, ceremony, reception, first dance, and after-party. Despite their sentimental value, Kiray expressed her willingness to lend them to future brides. “Very willing ako ipahiram yung mga gowns na ginamit ko,” she said, explaining that she understands how stressful and costly wedding preparations can be.
Stephan joined the lighthearted conversation as the couple talked about how they first met through online games. Their contrasting personalities, Kiray being talkative and Stephan more reserved, added charm to their love story.
The couple tied the knot on December 13, with the wedding made extra special through the help of numerous sponsors. Kiray expressed gratitude to everyone who supported and celebrated their union.
