Carlos Yulo was filled with pride and admiration after seeing his younger brother, Karl Eldrew Yulo, earn two bronze medals at the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships. The competition, hosted at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City, became another memorable milestone for the Yulo family as Eldrew proved his skill on the world stage.

Grabe, ang ganda ng laban.” His response highlighted both his love as an older brother and his appreciation as a seasoned athlete who understands the effort required to achieve such success.

He also explained that Eldrew’s medal win carried even deeper significance because he had seen the sacrifices Eldrew made throughout his training. Carlos noted how determined his brother had been, constantly envisioning and working toward this moment. He shared this sentiment through the line, “Nakakatuwa para sa kanya. Alam ko pinaghirapan niya lahat ‘yon, ‘yung mga practice niya.”

Carlos further discussed the difficulties Eldrew faced while competing with an ankle injury. He said the situation demonstrated Eldrew’s devotion to gymnastics, emphasising that performing under those conditions reflected a genuine passion for the sport. He underscored this by saying, “Makikita mo rin po, masasabi mo rin po na mahal na mahal niya ‘yung sport.”

He also acknowledged how mentally exhausting injuries can be, describing how much inner strength is needed to continue pushing forward. As he explained, “Kung huhugutin mo sa pinakailalim yung motivation mo, siyempre nakaka-down po ‘yon.”

Despite this hurdle, Carlos admired how Eldrew stayed mentally strong and refused to let the setback defeat him. He highlighted this determination by saying, “Sobrang nakakatuwa na nakakabilib din dahil hindi siya nagpatalo sa sarili niya.”
