BINI’s Maloi Reveals Her PCOS Diagnosis in an Emotional Confession

BINI’s Maloi Breaks Her Silence on PCOS: “Mas kailangan ko alagaan ’yung sarili ko”

BINI MALOI – Known for her cheerful personality onstage, BINI’s Maloi showed her vulnerable side as she tearfully revealed her PCOS diagnosis and the lessons she’s learned about self-care.

BINI’s Maloi Ricalde has opened up about a deeply personal health struggle in the latest episode of BINI World Tour Stories, an iWantTFC documentary series that offers fans a glimpse into the group’s life beyond the stage. In a touching segment, the singer revealed that she was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal condition that affects women’s reproductive health.

After consulting with her doctor, Maloi learned that she had polycystic ovaries—news she described as her “greatest fear.” Overcome with emotion and supported by her mother, she confessed, “Sabi ko, mawala na cellphone ko, iPad ko, lahat ng mga material things ko, ’wag lang ako magka-PCOS. Ganun ’yung thinking ko.”

Although she strives to maintain a positive attitude, Maloi admitted that the diagnosis took an emotional toll on her. “Ang sad lang kasi as someone na nanggaling sa malaki at masayang pamilya, syempre nakikita ko na sarili ko na, ‘Ah, someday, ganito. Gusto ko rin ng ganito,’” she said.

Nevertheless, the P-pop idol remains hopeful and focused on taking better care of herself. “‘Di naman ako napanghihinaan ng loob… optimistic ako… [pero] may lungkot din sa part ko and ’yun ’yung kailangan kong tanggapin, mas kailangan ko alagaan ’yung sarili ko,” she continued.

Maloi also used her experience to remind other women of the importance of getting checked and prioritizing their well-being. “‘Yung mga ganitong procedures, may malaking impact siya sa life mo and makakatulong siya sa’yo and sa future mo,” she emphasized.

She shared that they all take health seriously, saying, “We take our health seriously,” and revealed that they recently received vaccinations against cervical cancer. As she reminded fans, “Prevention is better than cure.”
