Rabiya Mateo Shares Her Determined Path to Achieving Her Dream House
RABIYA MATEO – Driven by her childhood memories of having no permanent address, Rabiya Mateo is now fulfilling her biggest goal—owning a place she can finally call home.
Although Rabiya Mateo recently went through a difficult financial experience, the Kapuso actress remains determined to pursue her aspirations—particularly the dream she’s held since childhood of owning a house she can truly call her own.
In a segment aired on “Chika Minute” during 24 Oras on July 15, Rabiya opened up about falling victim to a scam. Despite the emotional and financial toll, the former Miss Universe Philippines chooses to stay hopeful and optimistic.
“Kailangan nating ipagpatuloy ang buhay, masakit man. There’s still a lot of means for me to get my money back. I am still praying and hoping na sana ay mabalik,” she said.
Rather than linger on the unfortunate incident, she’s channeling her energy into restoring what she lost and continuing progress on her home. Rabiya shared with pride that she was able to purchase and renovate her dream home located in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
“I was able to buy and renovate my dream house sa Sta. Rosa, Laguna. I need to start from scratch but God is so good.”
Reflecting on her childhood, she recalled the hardship of frequently moving due to financial challenges her family faced.
“Frustration namin noong maliit ako, para kaming no permanent address. We would transfer from one place to another kasi we can’t afford to pay rent.”
Having come this far, Rabiya stays motivated to continue working hard—not only to enhance their home, but also to manage her finances wisely, taking to heart her mother’s reminder to stay practical.
“Dream house ko siya kaya ako nagwo-work very hard sa showbiz. Kasi, I want to achieve a lot of good things in life, so isa na ‘to.”
In addition to her personal achievements, Rabiya shared that she will be appearing on the upcoming seventh anniversary special of Amazing Earth, which also reunites her with Royal Blood co-star Dingdong Dantes.
“I’m going to have a special participation sa seventh year anniversary ng Amazing Earth. Abangan nila kung ano ‘yung mga ginawa ko doon.”
No matter the challenges, Rabiya continues to forge ahead with determination, faith, and a positive outlook.
