John Prats talked about being in a loveteam in the past
Actor-director John Prats revealed something about his former loveteam partner, Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista.
John started his showbiz career at a young age. He was a child star and eventually transitioned into a teen star. Just like many teen stars, John also had his phase in showbiz when he was paired with a leading lady.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, John Prats said that there’s a big difference between loveteams in the past and in the present. He pointed out that because of social media, fans have a stronger connection now to their favorite stars.
The actor-director said that in the past, loveteams had a mystery because fans had no access to what the stars were doing behind the camera. What the fans would see was the characters they portray in their projects.
“So ‘yung mystery laging nando’n. So ang kilala lang nila sa amin is like Yuan, the character in G-Mik, John as the drummer, ‘yon lang. So hindi namin talaga napapakita kung sino talaga kami. And okay din siya in a way na may mystery sa fans,” he explained.
John also pointed out that right now, people can comment on anything, even those that are hurtful. He said that this is not people’s fault because celebrities are also allowing this to happen.
In the same interview, John’s onscreen partnership with Heart was also talked about. With this, he recalled his initial reaction when he first met the actress-turned-fashion icon.
“Initial meeting namin hindi ko siya talaga gusto. Wala talagang attraction at all pero kinakagat ng tao nang malala. So ‘yung pagiging love team namin ni Heart, talagang taong bayan ‘yung nag-dictate kung paano,” he shared.
Eventually, he and Heart became a couple in real life. Back then, fans could reach out to them through email or letters. These were sent to ABS-CBN, and this was the start of the loveteam of John Prats and Heart Evangelista.
