Gretchen Ho Replies to Critics Accusing Her of Being “Biased”
GRETCHEN HO – Filipina broadcaster Gretchen Ho addressed her critics head-on, responding to those who accused her of being “biased.”
Gretchen Ho recently shared photos of her visit to the Philippine Embassy in the Netherlands, where she met with Ambassador Ed Malaya. The post, which she uploaded on social media, was meant to highlight the presence of a seasoned diplomat leading the embassy.
However, it quickly attracted criticism from some netizens, who accused her of being “bias” in her reporting.

In response to the remarks, Ho maintained her composure and corrected the bashers’ grammatical mistake. “‘BIAS with an ED’ po. Biased. Thanks powh,” she commented. She later took to X (formerly Twitter) to further elaborate, “Otherwise…. If it were a noun.”
Ho’s trip to the Netherlands is part of her coverage of the ongoing case of former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte at the International Criminal Court (ICC). Duterte, known for his controversial and bloody war on dr*gs, is currently facing charges related to crimes against humanity, specifically murder. Ho described the proceedings as a historic moment, stating, “March 14, 2025. A day etched in Philippine and World History. Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, notorious for his brutal War on Dr&gs, undergoes initial proceedings in front of the ICC Pre-Trial Chamber, as a ‘suspect’ arrested for the crimes against humanity of murder.”

Despite the criticism, Ho remained unfazed, standing by her work as a journalist and continuing to deliver updates on significant global and national events. Her response to the bashers also garnered support from netizens who appreciated her wit and professionalism in handling the situation.
As a seasoned journalist, Ho has consistently been vocal about pressing issues, ensuring that the public remains informed. Her coverage of Duterte’s case in the ICC is yet another testament to her commitment to responsible journalism, regardless of the backlash she faces online.
