Alex Calleja had his past impression of Jake Cuenca
The first impression does not always last for comedian Alex Calleja as he shared this story about Kapamilya actor Jake Cuenca.
Jake is one of the most successful Kapamilya stars. His versatility in doing both protagonist and antagonist roles is an edge for him in the entertainment industry, aside from the certain aura that he has that could be intimidating for others.
Apparently, that was the reason why Alex had a different impression of him at first. In a recent interview on talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz’s YouTube channel, Alex was asked about celebrities who he does not want to work with.
Alex Calleja shared the backstory of why he initially did not want to work with Jake Cuenca. This came after the actor guested on the 2014 series Toda Max featuring Robin Padilla, Angel Locsin, and Vhong Navarro.
“Ito muna ang backstory sa simula nakatrabaho ko siya (Jake) na-ano ako sa attitude niya pero nabago pagkatapos ng apat na taon nag-guest kasi siya sa isang show (Toda Max),” Alex shared.
The comedian shared that back then, Jake was acting as a “very star” and he noticed that when the actor was on set, the production staff were panicking. Then, when Jake would arrive, he would say, “‘O take na tayo!”
However, that impression changed when Alex worked with Jake in the series Los Bastardos in 2018. “Sabi niya (Jake), ‘Uy fan mo ako!’ (Nagulat ako), gusto ko siyang yakapin at sabihing ‘pasensya ka na sa apat na taong hindi kita gusto,’” Alex shared.
With this, Alex Calleja said that he wanted to text all his friends who heard a negative story about Jake Cuenca from him.
Then, the comedian shared that there was an actress who he did not want to work with because he felt that she would just ignore him because she was already a big star. Ogie said that he is okay with that actress because he was able to work with her in the past.
