Here’s Boy Abunda Reaction To Julie Anne San Jose’s Viral Church Performance
BOY ABUNDA – Here’s King of Talk Boy Abunda’s reaction to the viral church performance of Julie Anne San Jose.
In the latest episode of his talk show on GMA-7, Boy Abunda addressed the recent viral performance by Julie Anne San Jose at the Nuestra Señora del Pilar Parish, which sparked a mix of admiration and criticism online.
Julie’s rendition of “Dancing Queen” during a fundraising event drew backlash from some netizens who felt her outfit and performance were inappropriate for the church setting.
Abunda, who watched the performance video, expressed his appreciation for Julie’s continued dedication to fundraising, emphasizing her status as one of the biggest talents in the music industry today.
“Nung napanood ko yung video, si Julie Anne San Jose kasi for her stature, and she’s one of the biggest talents in the music industry today, sa kaniyang stature parang sabi ko, ‘Nakakabilib naman ‘tong si Julie Anne.’ She still does these fundraisings for churches,” he began.
Boy recognized Julie’s efforts to support charitable causes, which adds depth to her celebrity status.
However, he also acknowledged the concerns raised by the public regarding the appropriateness of the venue. “I know it was wrong, I agree with the public reaction na parang inappropriate yung venue,” he stated. This admission highlighted the fine line between entertainment and respect for sacred spaces.
Interestingly, Boy pointed out that he hasn’t yet spoken to Julie about the incident but proposed a potential scenario that could explain her choices. He said, “I haven’t spoken to Julie, kasi pwede ring dumating ka, nalaman mo na sa loob ng simbahan, do you actually have the time to change your repertoire, to change her clothes?”
Concluding his thoughts, Boy emphasized that there are valuable lessons to be learned from this incident. “For everything that had happened, lahat ng leksyon na natutunan, makikita po natin na lahat ng gumalaw na tao dito sa kwentong ito ay may magandang intensyon at may magandang puso,” he concluded.
This perspective invites a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding public performances, especially in sensitive venues like churches.
