John Amores: Victim’s Mom Emotionally Declares She Won’t Withdraw The Case

PBA player John Amores was involved in a shooting incident and the mother of his victim emotionally declared that they would not withdraw the case.

Amores became a trending topic on X, formerly Twitter, because of what happened. Based on reports, Amores’s basketball game with the victim’s team did not go well. A conflict occurred when the PBA player opposed a call and he challenged the other team to a fistfight.

This reached the highway as John and his 20-year-old brother, riding on a motorcycle, chased the victim. At some point, the basketball player ran to chase the victim while shooting him.

The police immediately conducted a hot pursuit to arrest John Amores and his brother after the shooting incident. However, in the early morning of Thursday, the basketball and his brother surrendered to the police.

They were detained at the Lumban PNP station. Amores opted not to speak to the media and asked the authorities that they would not give any statement to the press people.

Based on the report from ABS-CBN, Shirley Cacalda, the mother of the 32-year-old victim, rushed to the police station. “Kauuwi lang ng anak ko galing barko, lilimang araw pa dito yan,” Calcalda emotionally said.

She expressed dismay that just for P4,000, Amores would kill her son. The victim’s mother also stressed that she will definitely continue filing a complaint against the basketball player. “Bibigyan ko ng kadalahan yan, dahil hambog yan. Mayabang talaga!” Cacalda said.

She also said that she would not allow Amores to do this to her son. In a calmer tone, Cacalda narrated that her son just said that he would shed some sweat that day as he was wearing a basketball uniform.

When asked if she was able to talk to anyone from the camp of John Amores, the victim’s mom said that no one and she did not intend to talk to anyone from the other camp.
